Accountant: Develops, implements and/or maintains one or more accounting systems. Prepares or posts journal entries; maintains and reconciles general ledger accounts. Provides records of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions. Prepares profit and loss, income and balance sheet statements. Maintains receipts and disbursement reports. May prepare reports and tax returns. Ensures accuracy and compliance with all accounting regulations. May interpret reports and records for managers. Requires bachelors degree with three plus years of related experience or equivalent. Performs core responsibilities which are more difficult, requiring judgement in resolving issues. Has substantial understanding of position applying knowledge to complete a wide range of tasks with very little instruction and only general instruction on new assignments. Responsibilities are not all inclusive and ad-hoc projects may be assigned on an as needed basis.

Core Job Responsibilities:

General Accounting processes and maintains accounting transactions to insure outgoing cash does not exceed incoming cash. Accrual accounting under US GAAP is required. Responsibilities may include data entry into NetSuite, processing transactions for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, banking transactions and the necessary record retention and reporting for tax purposes. Jobs within the family shall maintain appropriate segregations of duties and abide by internal controls.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA):

The General Accounting team must possess the following skills and demonstrate increasing proficiency in each area throughout their career development.

  • Must have strong computer skills with Excel and Tier 1 or Tier 2 ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
  • Strong sense of service for internal customers and team-oriented skills
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Very strong attention to accuracy and detail

Essential Functions:

  • Processing general ledger transactions and tracking
  • Running reports and conducting analysis, when appropriate
  • Utilizes Netsuite
  • Collaborate with colleagues and upper management to develop improved processes
  • Communicate with customers to resolve invoice and credit memo discrepancies
  • Enter data to record sales into the Company's ERP system
  • Enter credit/ rebills from time to time
  • Filing and other administrative tasks
  • Mailing and or emailing invoices and statements to customers
  • Monitor Aged Receivables
  • Process remote deposits
  • Report on daily cash receipts
  • Support Controller and CFO with ad hoc reporting and projects
  • Various other tasks as assigned by management
  • Work closely with Account Services department on invoicing

Work Environment This job operates in an office setting.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will be required to perform the majority of duties at a computer workstation on a computer and phone.

Travel These positions generally do not require travel. There may be very rare circumstances where travel may be required but less than 10% of the time other than the CFO.
