In this position, the Employee is responsible for the North American sales for retail pharmacy automation solutions. Additionally, they will engage in KNAPP’s other pharmacy solutions sales for central-fill, mail-order, long-term care and specialty pharmacies. This will include business development efforts with the retail chains, health systems, PBMs and other targeted pharmacy segments. This position will work closely with product development, system engineering and other internal resources to provide complete solutions for their pharmacy customers and prospects. 

Essential Functions:

  • Develop systemic solutions for the retail pharmacy market using consultative sales in alignment with the KNAPP sales process 
  • Build initial entry in the North American market for KNAPP’s retail pharmacy automation solutions and specialty pharmacy solutions to create an ongoing stream of business 
  • Use retail pharmacy relationships to build KNAPP’s position in micro central fills (MCFs), central fills and mail order pharmacies with these accounts.
  • Working with product development, will use industry knowledge to optimize KNAPP’s offering with existing products, developmental KNAPP products and best of class 3rd party products that can fill any gaps
  • Working with marketing, develop collateral material to target key markets for use in presentations, trade shows and journals 
  • Attend and participate at key pharmacy conferences and trade shows for the the North American market providing expertise and building brand awareness in these markets
  • Travel, 40% to 60%, both domestically and internationally to tour customers’ sites, visit new prospects’ sites, and work with our onsite  engineering teams


  • 5 years’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Direct experience with pharmacy automation preferred, including retail, hospital, specialty, mail order, central fill, long term care, and specialty pharmacy automation
  • Direct experience working with pharmacy benefit management (PBM), retail pharmacy chains or healthcare systems preferred
  • Experience preferred in systems integration, material handling systems, and automation systems
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred in relevant studies 
  • Fluent in English (German a plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and present ideas effectively
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer’s needs
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying close attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Working Conditions and Environment:

  • Frequent travel is required, often 40-60%
