What you will do

Johnson Controls delivers building solutions that help customers improve safety, security, and performance. In this role, you will represent Johnson Controls Complex Security Systems and service offerings to building owners and other key stakeholders in the construction industry, building trusted relationships and helping customers choose the right technical solution.

As an Account Executive, Complex Security Systems, you will manage a sales cycle focused on complex security projects, owner-level relationships, and specification-driven opportunities. You will promote the Johnson Controls value proposition through technical solutions and operational expertise, seek out and qualify new opportunities, and work to close business consistently each month while expanding the depth and breadth of Johnson Controls offerings within assigned accounts.

How you will do it

• Sell Johnson Controls Complex Security Systems and service offerings to owners, primarily at the Director level.
• Build and manage long-term customer relationships with target and managed accounts.
• Develop new sales opportunities, qualify prospects, and close business on a monthly basis.
• Work with contractors, consulting engineers, and owner accounts to drive take-offs, bids, and favorable specifications.
• Prepare proposals that align with building specifications and position Johnson Controls solutions effectively.
• Expand the penetration of Complex Security Systems and related services within assigned accounts.
• Coordinate with internal operations and administrative teams to support customer satisfaction and issue resolution.
• Keep management informed of progress, account status, and support needs throughout the sales process.
• Build partnering relationships with assigned accounts and maintain frequent face-to-face contact with the customers and influencers who shape specification and buying decisions.
• Listen actively, ask thoughtful questions, and address concerns quickly so customers experience credibility, trust, and follow-through.
• Translate customer needs into accurate take-offs, bids, and proposals for contractors, consulting engineers, and owner accounts.
• Own outcomes with accountability, integrity, and attention to detail by keeping management informed and asking for support when needed to keep opportunities moving.
• Work as one team across sales, operations, and administrative partners to resolve issues efficiently and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Improve every day through clear communication and practical problem-solving that helps you strengthen account penetration and sharpen the sales process.

What we look for

Required

• Degree or equivalent experience of more than eight years.
• A proven track record of sales success in the Complex Security industry with a minimum of five plus years of consultative progressive field sales experience in a highly complex sales process preferably in the Complex Security industry.
• Excellent initiative and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence the market at key levels.
• Technically savvy

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in business or Engineering.

Salary Range: HIRING SALARY RANGE: $79,000 - 123,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that will take into account volume and margin on a project, quarterly, and annual basis. This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
