Job description:

We are seeking a top-tier A-Level / Master Automotive Technician to join our team in Ocala. As our lead diagnostic expert, you will handle the most complex mechanical, electrical, and driveability challenges in the shop. We are looking for a true "tech of last resort"—someone who thrives on advanced troubleshooting, heavy internal repairs, and setting the standard for quality and performance in the bay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Diagnostics: Perform high-level electrical troubleshooting (CAN-BUS, LIN networks, oscilloscope analysis, module programming/re-flashing) and complex engine performance/driveability diagnostics.
  • Heavy Mechanical & Powertrain: Execute major internal engine repairs, timing components, and transmission/drivetrain overhauls across a wide range of makes and models.
  • Master-Level Inspections: Utilize advanced scan tools and DVIs to accurately diagnose complex, hard-to-find, and intermittent issues.
  • Shop Technical Leadership: Serve as the primary technical resource for B-Level and apprentice technicians, providing guidance on difficult diagnostic trees and repair procedures.
  • Quality & Efficiency: Maintain high flat-rate efficiency while ensuring strict adherence to OEM specifications, zero comebacks, and top safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 8+ years of professional automotive repair experience, including proven success as a lead or primary diagnostic technician.
  • Certifications:
  • ASE Master Technician (A1–A8) required.
  • L1 (Advanced Engine Performance Specialist) is a major plus.
  • EPA Section 609 Refrigerant Certification required.
  • Skills: Expert-level proficiency with advanced diagnostic equipment, lab scopes, factory scan tools, and vehicle network systems.
  • Tools: Must own a complete set of professional master technician hand, power, and diagnostic tools.
  • License: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
