Job Title: Forklift Operator

Location: US Beverage Packers West LLC

Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor

Department: 500-Warehouse

FLSA Status: Hourly


Job Summary

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to 

move, load, unload, and store materials throughout the beverage production facility. This role supports 

production, warehouse, and shipping operations by ensuring raw materials, packaging, and finished goods are 

transported efficiently and accurately.

The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in maintaining production flow, inventory accuracy, and safe 

operations in a fast-paced environment while adhering to all safety, quality, and GMP standards.


Core Competencies & Responsibilities

1. Safety & Compliance

• Comply with all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and warehouse traffic rules.

• Conduct daily pre-shift equipment inspections and report any mechanical or safety issues immediately.

• Always operate forklifts safely, included but not limited to, in high-traffic areas, around pedestrians, 

and near active production lines.

• Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas.

• Participate in safety meetings and training programs.

2. Quality & Standards

• Handle raw materials and finished goods carefully to prevent damage, contamination, or loss.

• Follow all GMP standards and maintain cleanliness in storage and staging areas.

• Verify correct product codes, quantities, and lot numbers during all movements and transfers.

• Support rework, product segregation, and labeling activities as needed.

• Serve as the final quality checkpoint within the warehouse by inspecting pallets and products before 

movement or shipment to ensure they are properly built, free of visible damage, correctly wrapped, 

and meet company quality standards.

3. Productivity & Operational Excellence

• Transport raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, between, warehouse and production areas 

efficiently.

• Support production changeovers by delivering materials in a timely manner to prevent downtime.

• Load and unload trailers following proper dock procedures and trailer restraint systems.

• Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, shipping logs, and material transactions.

• Stage materials in designated areas to support organized and efficient operations.

4. Communication & Teamwork

• Communicate inventory needs, material shortages, and operational issues to supervisors and team 

members.

• Report damaged products, pallets, or loading errors promptly, and assist with corrections.

• Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Warehouse teams to meet daily operational goals.

• Maintain a professional, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.

5. Technical / Job-Specific Skills

• Operate sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

• Use handheld scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track material movements.

• Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and report maintenance needs.

• Follow established traffic routes, pedestrian zones, and designated staging locations.


Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.

• Experience: 1+ years of forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or warehouse

environment preferred.

• Skills: Current forklift certification required or ability to obtain through company training.

• Other Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lift up to 50 lbs., and support flexible 

scheduling as needed.


Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, sit for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.

• Exposure to warehouse and production environments, including temperature variations, noise, and 

moving equipment.

• Required use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.


Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $19.00 – $21.00 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
