Job Overview:

The 80/20 Design Team Leader will assist and support the 80/20 Design Team Representatives, 80/20 Design Qualify Representatives and the 80/20 CM Design Representatives, who will often be the first and primary point of contact for new, existing, and potential customers.

Therefore, it is critical to the long-term health of 80/20, Inc. that team member’s paint the company in a positive light by providing friendly, prompt, and professional-grade service. The entire Technical Services Team must function as an efficient front-line unit, performing many duties: educating, problem-solving, updating, selling, listening, public relations, communicating, designing and supporting the “Think Like A Customer” mantra company wide. The 80/20 Design Team Leader is responsible for knowing the 80/20 Inc. business model and utilizing it throughout the department.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Guide entire Technical Services Team.
  • Model professional and ethical work behaviors.
  • Set lead time, quality and turn goals for quoting teams.
  • Direct teams toward department goals.
  • Instill accountability measures.
  • Assign projects, tasks and quote requests as needed.
  • Interact with department supervisors as needed to complete quotes and sales orders.
  • Analyze quoting, design and application needs from the market.
  • Contribute to ongoing design software development.
  • Promote and direct cross training between quoting teams.
  • Review and implement process improvements for Tech Services and CM quoting teams.
  • Foster a work environment that promotes sharing of knowledge, experience, and expertise.
  • Take requests from distributors and customers needing technical assistance.
  • Promote teamwork and the “THINK LIKE A CUSTOMER” approach.
  • Complete and participate in projects and tasks as needed.
  • Fulfill the role and set an example COMPANY-WIDE as a CUSTOMER CHAMPION.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous Management or Team Leader experience strongly preferred.
  • Equivalent experience also considered.
  • Skilled- Two years Technical Services and/or CM Quoting experience, or the equivalent.
  • Two years Value Added Assembly experience, or the equivalent.
  • Minimum High School Diploma required.
  • College degree strongly preferred.
  • Must be proficient with Windows based office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Must be able to read work instructions, procedures, CAD drawings and quote summaries and verbally communicate with other employees, distributors, and customers.
  • Must be able to interact with customers and distributors
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers.
  • Must be able to read and follow Work Instructions and Procedures.
  • Must read, speak, write, and understand English
  • Must be able to interact professionally with customers and 80/20 team.
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude and work well in a team environment.
  • Must genuinely enjoy working and interacting with people.
  • Must truly comprehend and execute performance and system improvement reviews.
  • Must demonstrate unconditional mindset regarding operational needs, emerging market trends and product opportunity.
  • Must demonstrate self-assurance and have the desire to succeed.
