We are looking for a proven Software Section Manager to join our Software Engineering team in El Segundo, CA or Hanover, MD. Relocation assistance available provided final candidate meets eligibility requirements.
The Space, GNS (Global Positioning System & Navigation Systems) and STE (Special Test Equipment) Department is a key strategic member of the Software Engineering Organization. The GNS Department develops and delivers industry-leading Space, GNS & STE technologies.
Our programs provide affordable Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) solutions by leveraging our existing products and technologies, investing in Research and Development, and expanding our strategic customer and supplier partnerships. GNS Programs also support all elements of military Global Positioning System (GPS) technology including aircraft GPS navigation, weapon GPS/Inertial Navigation System (INS) guidance and advanced technology programs. GNS Programs support a variety of applications such as amphibious assault vehicles, aviation, maritime, munitions and handheld devices.
You’re highly skilled in: (Required Skills)
10+ years of experience in software development or equivalent experience
C/C++ Programming, embedded software development experience
Technical leadership experience to a small team of engineers
Experience using and reporting EVMS
Experience providing career development for team members
Experience contributing technical work products throughout the entire software life cycle
Experience evaluating performance of section members and ensure completion of required and suggested training
Experience working independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Experience developing software in an Agile environment
Active and current DoD Secret or higher clearance
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
