Job Overview:

5-Axis CNC Machinist – Cradle to Grave Machining

Build Complex Precision Parts. Own the Entire Process.

We are seeking an experienced 5-Axis CNC Machinist to join a high-precision manufacturing team producing complex components for aerospace, defense, industrial, and advanced engineering applications.

This is a true cradle-to-grave machining role, not a button-pushing position. You'll be responsible for setting up, programming, troubleshooting, and running production parts while maintaining tight tolerances and delivering exceptional quality.

If you enjoy taking ownership of the entire machining process and want the flexibility to create a schedule that works for you, we'd like to speak with you.

Schedule Flexibility

Choose the schedule that fits your lifestyle:

  • 4x10s
  • 5x8s
  • 3x12s

What You'll Do

  • Set up, program, and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines
  • Machine complex production components from start to finish
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications
  • Select tooling, establish work offsets, and perform machine adjustments
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make real-time process improvements
  • Optimize cycle times while maintaining quality standards
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment
  • Maintain tight tolerances on complex multi-axis components
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes
  • Follow all quality, safety, and production requirements

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Strong 5-axis machining experience preferred
  • Proven cradle-to-grave machining experience
  • Ability to independently set up, program, and run production parts
  • Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, materials, and machining strategies
  • Ability to read blueprints, CAD drawings, and GD&T
  • Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment
  • Aerospace, defense, medical device, or other high-precision manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work on ITAR-controlled projects
  • Must be able to meet DOD compliance requirements

Why Join Us?

  • Flexible work schedules
  • Modern 5-axis machining equipment
  • Stable production environment
  • High-precision, challenging work
  • Opportunity to own projects from setup through production
  • Collaborative team culture focused on quality and continuous improvement

If you're an experienced machinist who can take a part from setup to finished production and thrives in a precision manufacturing environment, we encourage you to apply today.

Machines & technologies you'll use:

  • CNC Lathe (5+ axis)
