Job Overview:

SUMMARY: To setup, operate and maintain Zünds and finishing equipment with an emphasis on productivity, quality, safety, and good housekeeping. 

Shift:3rd shift, Sunday night to Thursday Morning. 10:30pm to 7:00am


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.    

•    Analyze all aspects of each job based on information from the job ticket; develop plan to execute job, ensure job ticket instructions and specific process work instructions are completed correctly. Take corrective action as necessary. 

•    Ensure the completion of jobs meeting quality and quantity requirements including proper boxing requirements to ship.

•    Pack and make ready jobs for shipping. 

•    Complete job ticket to include date, initial, quantity and complete green sheet and then forward completed printed material to shipping.

•    Attend and contribute to daily huddle meeting.

•    Assist in developing and maintaining schedules according to customer needs. 

•    Set up, clean up and perform routine maintenance on Zünds and finishing equipment.

•    Monitor assigned machine during run to ensure adherence to specifications. Make adjustments as needed to maintain specifications and operating speed.

•    Occasionally work overtime as requested in order to satisfy customer needs.

•    Troubleshoot machine problems, resolving if possible, notifying Lead or Manager as needed. 

•    Perform general housekeeping duties in work areas. 

•    Maintain a safe work environment for self and other employees while performing job functions.

•    Maintain a 5S department by ensuring that all work areas, equipment areas, and needed tools or supplies are clean and orderly.

•    Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed.

•    Input data into the Monarch system to indicate completed production.

•    Complete special projects as assigned. 

•    Communicate job requirements to appropriate personnel at start and/or end of shift.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

•    Specific knowledge of printing, graphic arts and the variable print workflow gained through either formal study or job experience. 

•    Good written and oral communication skills. 


REQUIREMENTS:


•    Must be able to cooperate with co-workers and supervisors. 

•    Ability to read and understand job tickets, proofs, and all other job related paperwork in English. 

•    Must have good decision-making skills and a willingness to assume responsibility for the work produced by self and others. 

•    Must keep confidential matters confidential. 

•    Must be dependable and have the ability to pre-plan.

•    Must set a high standard of conduct that represents the Hopkins Printing Mission Statement.

•    Must be able to work in-person, in the plant, during scheduled work hours.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be physically able to stand for up to twelve hours, lift up to 35 lbs. and work required overtime.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to complete required tasks.  The employee is required to stand on concrete, sit and walk.  The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
