Our client in Mentor, OH is seeking a **3rd Shift Team Lead **to support machining operations and ensure efficient production flow. This role will assist with machine setups, monitor workflow priorities, support team training, and help maintain quality, safety, and production standards.
Position: Team Lead – 3rd Shift
**Location: **Mentor, OH
**Schedule: **Monday – Thursday | 7:30 PM – 6:00 AM (Must have 3rd Shift experience)
**Pay: **$24 – $26 per hour, based on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with machine setups and verify parts using precision measuring tools.
- Manage and prioritize work orders to maintain efficient production flow.
- Coordinate pick lists and communicate job priorities with team members.
- Ensure materials are staged and available for upcoming production jobs according to work orders.
- Verify programs are preloaded on machines with correct revisions according to prints.
- Confirm proper fixturing, clamps, and stops are installed prior to production.
- Ensure daily machine checklists are completed by operators.
- Maintain 5S standardsincluding organized tool boards, documentation sheets, and clean work areas.
- Keep setup bins organized and stocked with required parts.
- Audit shop floor computers to ensure systems are operational and being used properly.
- Assist Document Control in developing and improving work instructions.
- Train new employees, including machine operators and setup operators.
- Conduct new team member orientations and track training progress.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, scrap reduction, and reducing changeover times.
- Participate in safety discussions and communicate updates with the CNC team.
- Train operators on machine setups, program changes, changeover documentation, and WIP (work-in-process) tracking.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment in a Lead or Managerial role.
- Minimum 3 years of experience measuring parts using precision measuring tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
