Job Overview:

Position Summary

The 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician will be responsible for inspecting and performing repairs on various machines and equipment, such as Burning Tables, Grinders and Mill Machines, and Overhead Cranes and Forklifts.The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a maintenance role, and be highly skilled with various hand powered tools, read blueprints and repair manuals,

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude but not limited to:

  • Conduct routine inspections of machines and equipment.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment to prevent production downtime.

  • Handle daily repairs.

  • Oversee and assist contractors with repairs.

  • Diagnose mechanical issues and make corrections.

  • Perform all duties and responsibilties in a safe manner, following all OSHA safety and health requirements.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics

  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools

  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.

  • Experience with precision measuring instruments and electronic testing devices.

  • Committed to follow all safety protocols

  • OSHA certified preferred

  • Basic computer knowledge

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Related degree from technical college and/or certification preferred

  • 3 years experience in a maintenance role

  • Strong troubleshooting in electrical and mechanical

  • Fabrication and welding experience

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This position operates in a steel manufacturing shop environment. Exposure to noise, chemicals, and materials consistent with a manufacturing environment is constant. This a physically demanding position; maintaining the physical strength to lift materials up to 50lbs. and endure prolonged standing.Must be able to crouch, kneel, and use ladders to access machines and equipment.
