Description

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician B’s responsibilities are to perform skilled and semi-skilled labor in the repair and maintenance of facilities in accordance with safety regulations, policies, and procedures under general supervision. They complete maintenance tasks requiring basic carpentry, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills. They work on assigned projects and make appropriate decisions based on work experience and technical skill sets. They notify the appropriate level of leadership of repair problems beyond the scope of authority.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect facilities, prioritizes necessary repairs, improvements, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment in the manufacturing facility, including company vehicles.
  • Perform monthly safety inspections and record keeping. 
  • Review OEM manuals for recommendations of preventative maintenance and implement.
  • Read work orders and specification to determine machines and equipment requiring repair.
  • Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments according to OEM specification.
  • Complete maintenance tasks from start to finish in a timely manner.
  • Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.
  • Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, parts, and equipment.
  • Operate cranes, drills, saws, and other small tools as required.
  • Carry out various clerical or janitorial duties.
  • Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information in CMMS software.
  • Set up and operate machines, and adjust controls to regulate operations
  • Must follow all safety rules by always keeping work area clean and safe from hazards.
  • Update and communicate with production and supervisory team’s available information on repairs.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and concrete.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry objects of up to 45 pounds, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
  • Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
  • Noise level is generally loud.
  • Long periods of standing.
  • Must be able to quickly move arms and legs.
  • Ability to work from a ladder or a boom lift at heights up to 60 ft.
