Forklift Operator - LTO

Kendallville Plant

Kraft Heinz Foods Company, located in Kendallville, IN, is seeking a highly motivated Forklift Operator to join our manufacturing plant. As the sole producer of all our product lines, Kraft Heinz Kendallville offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our ambitious goals.

Plant Overview:

• Non-union plant employing 280 employees across 3 shifts.
• Purchased in 1934 from Breyer’s Ice Cream and began producing caramel in 1935.
• Began producing Marshmallows and Marshmallow Crème in 1961 and Marbits (think dehydrated marshmallows found in cereal) in 1979.
• Kendallville is the sole producer of all our products.

Community Overview:

• Kendallville is located about 30 minutes north of Fort Wayne and offers a small-town community.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Scan finished products from production lines and load them onto trailers.
• Troubleshoot equipment operation issues related to line performance.
• Scan labels, verify correctness of PRN and enter pallet count accurately.
• Set up and operate palletizers.
• Provide cross functional training of raw and pack supply and receiving duties.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Monitor and communicate any process or product abnormalities to supervisors or team leaders.
• Collaborate with previous and next shift regarding any concerns or watch outs.
• Perform all other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

• Self-motivated and driven to achieve excellent results.
• Proficient in simple mathematics.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in areas with dust and starch particles.
• Willingness to work in hot and humid conditions.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing and/or food processing preferred.
