Job Description

The Steel Network, Inc. (TSN) is seeking a 3D Animator & Multimedia Designer to create animations, renderings, finished videos, and multimedia content for brands in engineering, construction, software, healthcare, and nonprofit industries. 

The role works with marketing and engineering teams to transform products, systems, and technical concepts into clear, engaging visual content and may support The Steel Network, Applied Science International, Basnight & Sons, Extivita, and HBOT4Heroes. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

3D Animation & Technical Visualization 

• Create 3D models, animations, and renderings. 

• Produce technical and product-focused animations. 

• Develop visual content from CAD files, drawings, and technical documentation. 

Animation Finishing & Multimedia Production 

• Edit and assemble rendered animations into finished videos. 

• Add titles, callouts, music, voiceovers, transitions, and visual enhancements. 

• Prepare animation content for presentations, websites, social media, and trade shows. 

• Support video production and post-production efforts when needed. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Coordination 

• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and marketing team members. 

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Maya. (Required) 

• Experience modeling, rigging, texturing, lighting, animation, and rendering. 

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator. 

• Strong eye for visual design and storytelling. 

• Excellent time management and communication skills. 

• Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and creatively. 

Education & Experience 

• Degree in Animation, Multimedia Design, Computer Graphics, or a related field preferred. 

• Experience creating technical, engineering, manufacturing, or construction-related content preferred. 

• Portfolio or demo reel required. 

• Professional 3D animation experience preferred; exceptional recent graduates with strong portfolios will be considered. 

Work Schedule

• Full-time, Monday-Friday, in office in Durham, North Carolina. 

• Limited to no travel.
