Job Description
Welder position is responsible for preventative maintenance, repair of aggregate processing mobile equipment, monitoring and replacement of ground engaging tools, fabrication and installation of guarding and operation of mobile equipment as needed. You may perform various roles, including fabrication, welding, cutting, greasing, housekeeping and various other shop or processing duties.
Job Responsibilities
- Prioritizes SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by PRODUCTION.
- Will take an active role in the plant safety initiatives.
- Always ensures a safe work environment for self and others.
- Conducts MSHA pre-shift safety inspections of equipment and work areas.
- Maximizes performance of mobile equipment by performing repairs and ensuring preventative maintenance is completed on a timely basis.
- Performs fabrication, erection of processing equipment and repair to processing equipment.
- Completes required paperwork to maintain equipment and to run the plant according to Martin Marietta Materials standards.
- Inspects and ensures maintenance truck is being maintained properly.
- Ensures Preventative Maintenance services, lubrications services are completed according to Maintenance Module.
- Trains and coaches’ other employees on maintenance practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Revised Roles/Responsibilities
- Help plant crew with Manganese changes
- Replace wear metal liners in cone feed hoppers
- Replace wear metal liners on cone spider cap assemblies
- Assist plant crew in repairs of plant equipment
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position.
- One (1) year of experience in welding and maintenance
Working Conditions
All duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs.
