We are looking for an experienced Tool and Die Team Leader to join our team located at our TNS facility (1895 Mines Rd in Pulaski, Tennessee)! This position is for 2nd shift and reports to the Tooling Manager. Starting wage $35.75 plus an additional 7.5% shift premium. This position is eligible for Performance Bonus. These bonuses are added to your hourly rate and can be as much as $3/hr, after 6 months!

SALARY / BENEFITS

  • This position is eligible for Performance Bonus. These bonuses are added to your hourly rate and can be as much as $3/hr.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Assist the Production Department to produce efficiently by keeping tooling and equipment in good working order. Provide direction to Tool & Die Makers to ensure timely repair and Preventative Maintenance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

A. Work from tool room schedule to ensure that production tooling and equipment is ready to meet customer requirements.

B. Troubleshoot tooling problems at presses.

C. Work with all employees to continuously improve quality and production.

D. Work on production equipment when necessary to maintain production.

E. Requisition supplies and spare parts for tool room and dies and keep these areas organized.

F. Maintain clean work areas and ensure that all others do the same.

G. Work with outside tradesman as required.

H. Available for overtime as required.

I. Available for training as required.

J. Suggest methods of improvement (i.e. Continuous Improvement Plan)

K. Interpret prints for tooling modifications, accuracy, &/or improvements.

L. Work with Engineers to create &/or modify prints to reflect changes.

M. Perform Preventive maintenance by assignment.

N. Must be able to make necessary decisions to keep production operating in an efficient manner.

O. Lead by example.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

At least 5 years of Tool & Die Maker experience is required in addition to at least 3 years of manufacturing experience in a metal stamping facility.
At least 1 year of experience leading small teams or group projects.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED is required.

Certified Toolmaker

Personal/Technical Skills:

Self-motivated, self-directed and able to make and meet specific goals in the Tooling Department·

Willing to learn simple electronics for sensor program assistance

Must have an ability to effectively lead a group of people in a direction that most benefits the company.

Language Skills:

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language (English).

Computer/Software:

Willing to learn or possess computer skills including Excel, Word, Shop Edge, PowerPoint, and CAD.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours

Able to work flexible hours as needed

must be able to lift, carry, hold and manipulate loads up to 50 lbs

Dexterity to manipulate hand tools and parts

Acceptable vision and hearing with or without appropriate prescribed aides

Able to work within environment that has temperature fluctuations
