Job Title: Quality Technician
Reports to: Quality Manager
FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPT
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Overtime as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform inspection activities to ensure conformance of product to the design as defined by the engineering drawings and/or models, and the ability to interpret the engineering drawings
- Conduct complete dimensional inspections of components, assemblies, and tooling using measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and other gages as required.
- Generate, understand, and report dimensional results
- Perform gage R&R and capability studies
- Operate CMM
- Assists Quality Engineer(s) with identifying nonconforming conditions that present existing or impending defective conditions at the level of production
- Assists Quality Engineers prepare inspection plans and checklists for inspection
- Assist Quality Engineers with data collection and root cause analysis investigations
- May specialize in receiving inspection, in-process inspection, process verification/auditing, final inspection, etc.
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
- Demonstrate the ability to perform effectively under pressure while supporting production operations and cross-functional teams
- Ability to build positive and professional working relationships with team members at all organizational levels to maintain a collaborative and positive working environment.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and composure in fast-paced or stressful situations.
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently to ensure timely support of production needs and shifting operational demands
- Additional duties as directed by Management or Supervision
General Work Requirements:
- A high school diploma or its equivalent
- Quality background preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to effectively interpret data and present as information and respond to questions from engineers and other technical staff
- Experience with gage calibration in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Plex
Physical environment/work conditions:
- Manipulate small to medium sized objects, materials or tools on a routine basis
- Move light to moderately heavy objects continuously
- Apply a specific level of strength to move an object
- Use arms/legs continually and repeatedly over an extended period of time
- Move at a moderate to fast pace across specified terrain for extended periods of time
