The Role:

The Manufacturing Floor Lead is a working leader responsible for coordinating the safe, efficient, and quality-driven manufacturing of products across the production floor. This role provides day-to-day leadership to production employees and leads while maintaining operational excellence, ensuring standards related to safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement are met or exceeded.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead by example and coordinate daily activities of production team members in assigned manufacturing areas while modeling company values and expectations.
  • Direct production operations and Leads to meet safety, quality, schedule adherence, and efficiency objectives.
  • Maintain and drive Operating Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and efficiency standards across all production lines.
  • Lead line startups and changeovers on shop floor in a timely and efficient manner to maximize uptime and productivity.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for each work cell.
  • Operate as a line lead or production operator as necessary to support production schedules.
  • Train, coach, and cross-train machine operators and team members on equipment operations, material handling, gauging, documentation, and safety requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with work orders, SOPs, quality specifications, and production documentation requirements.
  • Perform routine quality checks including visual inspections, audits, and documentation reviews to ensure product conformity.
  • Ensure proper identification, handling, and flow of materials and finished goods within each production cell.
  • Maintain adequate material levels within each work cell to support uninterrupted production.
  • Monitor production performance metrics, including downtime and output, and report results to supervision.
  • Collect, analyze, and use performance data to drive continuous improvement initiatives across production areas.
  • Communicate production status, issues, and staffing needs to the Production Supervisor or Manager.
  • Enforce safety policies, OSHA requirements, and promote a strong safety culture throughout the production floor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and 5S-compliant (Visual Factory) production environment.
  • Motivate, engage, and support team members while providing coverage for breaks and lunches when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Hours 

 Monday–Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.

What You Will Bring:

  • Strong Communication and training skills required.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in equipment setup process execution, and resolution skills in manufacturing operations are keys to success in this position.  
  • Ability to provide direction and lead a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  
  • Proven problem-solving skills to address and direct a team when schedule changes occur. 
  • 5+ years previous manufacturing experience
  • Team Lead experience strongly preferred
  • Forklift certified (or eligible)
