We are looking for 2nd Shift Lead Powder Painter to support our team at our corporate location in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Summary:

The lead powder painter will be responsible for directing the paint department focusing on safety, quality, and production while producing low volumes of rework. The lead painter will need to communicate well with the department Supervisor, Maintenance Techs, QA departments, and process line employees. Lead painter will need to have a good knowledge of powder coating equipment, chemicals, and powder.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Standard of work must be followed
  • Assign task to painters
  • Assist in training painters 
  • Applies powder coating to parts with high finished quality.
  • Sets up and maintains power paint equipment to produce quality results.
  • Choose correct setting on paint screen depending on part type painted
  • Conducts and documents daily chemical checks.
  • Hang and remove parts on and from the conveyor line.
  • Ability to use resources in order to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Work productively in a team environment.
  • Interprets and follows instructions
  • Manages time effectively and strives to contain costs and reduce waste.
  • Enforces quality standards and procedures, responds quickly to quality problems for part containment.
  • Complies with safety regulations, promotes workplace safety and reports all to the Production Supervisor
  • Maintain a positive work environment by   communicating and collaborating with internal customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Helps company meet Quality objectives.
  • Must be available to work a 40 hour week and overtime when needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
  • Inspect parts for defects report any deficiencies to the Supervisor.
  • Maintain powder and chemical inventory cycle counts
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
  • Be punctual and have good attendance

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • 3 years prior powder coat paint experience is preferred with knowledge of controller systems, chemicals
  • Basic skills necessary to interpret cycle times, powder usage, and predict product delivery times.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing for up to 8 – 10 hours a day
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to withstand high temperatures during summer months ‘
