Job Overview:

**Position Overview

**

The Press Brake Operator is responsible for the setup and operation of CNC Press Brake equipment, playing a crucial role in our metal fabrication process. This position involves shaping and bending metal plates, sheets, and other parts according to customer specifications, contributing directly to our company's reputation for precision and quality.

**Key Responsibilities

**

  • Set up and operate CNC programmable press brakes and related equipment

  • Execute press machine operations according to precise specifications

  • Plan and implement sequences of operations to achieve desired results

  • Communicate effectively with the Production team regarding job requirements and progress

  • Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping in the work area

  • Perform machine adjustments and minor maintenance as needed

  • Read and interpret routers, blueprints, drawings, and machine sketches

  • Program brake presses, restore saved programs, and ensure optimal machine operation

  • Adapt to changing production needs and perform other related duties as assigned

**Required Qualifications

**

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job routers

  • Proficiency in reading gauges, micrometers, and applying principles of geometric tolerances

  • Experience in CNC press brake operation and programming

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to use measuring instruments to produce parts within decimal and angular tolerances

  • Capability to perform metric conversions

**Preferred Qualifications

**

  • Vocational School or Machine Trade School education

  • Advanced knowledge of industry specifications and equipment

  • Experience with Trumpf Press Brakes

**Physical Requirements

**

  • Ability to stand for up to two to three hours continuously

  • Occasional sitting, walking, climbing stairs, bending, and stooping

  • Regular reaching and grasping of cut parts throughout the day

  • Capacity to lift 45 lbs minimum and up to 60 lbs individually, or up to 120 lbs in a team lift

  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

**Work Environment

**

  • Exposure to typical fabrication shop conditions including dirt, dust, and noise

  • Potential exposure to temperature extremes (heat and cold)

  • Work around machinery with moving parts and mobile vehicles

  • Close collaboration with team members

  • Some overtime may be required based on business needs
