We’re hiring a 2nd Shift (Monday- Friday 3:45pm-11:45pm) Durability Test Technician

Our Clean Mobility Division is looking for a Durability Test Technician for its technical center in Columbus, IN to apply engineering fundamentals and standard methodology to instrumentation, testing, measurements, analysis, and reporting of the produce test results.

You’ll work on challenges that matter

This job will require you to:

  • Communicate with supervisor or GAP leader as needed to ensure effective and efficient completion of testing objectives
  • Complete work requests on-time and maintain accurate records of work orders and benchmarking (Utilization).
  • Fabricate test fixtures as needed to support testing functions
  • Instrument test fixtures, exhaust systems/subsystems and/or components necessary to fulfill the test requirements according to applicable standard methods
  • Perform mechanical durability & functional testing to support product design, development and validation utilizing engineering fundamentals and standard methodology
  • Review test results to ensure that the data is valid and that the test was in conformance with all applicable standard methods
  • Provide part and project traceability. Adhering to the Quality system, forms, and work instructions.
  • Maintain orderly operation and/or calibration of all fixtures and equipment as needed or required internally and/or by the manufacturer
  • Promote & maintain an organized (5S) work environment per company policy
  • Apply HSE safety standards in everyday work activities per company policy
  • Sound base mechanical knowledge
  • Autonomous on specific task and equipment
  • Polyvalent on specific processes and equipment

The ideal candidate

To succeed in this position, you will ideally have:

  • Oral & written communicator, user level computer skills, effective problem solving, mechanical & electrical aptitude, entrepreneurial work ethic.
  • Familiar with test and measurement equipment operations, Data Acquisition, Accelerometer Basics, Strain Gauging, automotive mechanical/electrical fundamentals, computer skill sets – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Welding & fabrication, schematic interpretation preferred.
  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma / GED and 2 years applicable work experience.
