Essential Functions - Provide technical support to the machine shop pertaining to machines, processes, tooling, work holding fixtures, programming, and overall troubleshooting.
- Develop and optimize CNC programs and associated tooling for machine tools with Fanuc, Haas, Omni Turn and Okuma controllers, supporting routing changes, new products, new processes, and process improvement.
- Assist Engineering and Operations with effective equipment layout.
- Ensure tooling capability, assist in product startups, tooling standardization, work cell integration, assist with planning projects from inception through production and assists with manufacturing issues.
- Assist in the specification, selection, and procurement of machinery and equipment necessary for manufacturing processes; from specialized tooling to full CNC work centers, and support bringing the new equipment to full production.
- Design and develop manufacturing processes and equipment, related fixtures, and tooling to reduce cost, lead time, change over, processing time, capacity constraints, and defects. Includes implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Performs other related duties and special projects as required and assigned by the Department Manager.

Education/Experience Requirements - Two year or four-year technical degree or certification from an accredited college or university with concentration in engineering or mechanical technology highly desired. Will consider other degree or relevant experience in application.
- Five (5) plus years of work experience within a manufacturing setting servicing automotive, industrial, sheet metal and other materials, (such as PTFE). Advanced mathematical abilities are required to effectively examine 3D models, dimensional prints, CAM software, CNC programs, and part measurements. Ability to work with fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Knowledge of the Quality Management System policies, goals, and objectives after training. Assist with systems based on Lean principles and practices to meet or exceed the requirements of the established QMS and all other standards required to serve our target markets.
