Job Overview:

Lloyd's Barbeque (a subsidiary of Hormel Corporation) is looking for General Workers at our Mendota Heights facility. Pay for the position starts at $21.00 to $21.50 per hour. The General Production Worker's task include:

  • Abiding by all Lloyd's Barbeque plant safety rules
  • Operating a food packaging machine for both pork and beef ribs
  • Operating food processing equipment
  • Assisting with the coordination and running of a food processing line
  • Hanging ribs (both and pork and beef) for smoking
  • Unload and place ribs (both pork and beef) into a packaging machine
  • Loading product onto stands for cooking
  • Performing product inspection checks
  • Label both packages of product and cases of product
  • Place finished product into a case
  • Picking up and stacking cases of product onto a pallet
  • Completing all necessary paperwork correctly and in a timely manner
  • Operating an electric Pallet Jack (in-house training provided)
  • Relieving other Lloyd's BBQ plant positions as necessary (additional pay provided if relieving a higher pay grade position)
  • Following good manufacturing practices (GMP's)
  • Perform any and all duties (washroom and production) as assigned by 1st line supervisor.

Requirements of the position include:

  • Ability to work safely
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to bend and turn at the waist, squat, reach overhead
  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to learn and perform multiple positions (after being provided training)
  • Work in a refrigerated environment (35 -- 45 degrees)
  • Good communication skills
  • Handle a variety of meat products (including pork)
