The Program
Join the Fusion Team in 2025! Fusion is a rotational training program within the Applied Materials Semiconductor Equipment business unit located in Gloucester, MA. It is designed to attract, assimilate, grow, and retain the most talented engineers entering the industry today.
During the first two years of employment, Fusion engineers go through a series of rotational assignments and work on cutting-edge designs to enable next generation technologies. The rotations typically consist of three or four unique engineering departmental assignments and one manufacturing department assignment. These rotations help Fusion members and managers determine where the Fusion member will flourish in their full-time position at Applied Materials.
Responsibilities:
Performs routine assignments in the entry level to a professional job progression. Typically has knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Develops competence by performing structured work assignments. Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems. Receives instruction, guidance, and direction from others.
Responsibilities Include:
Write the portion of the system engineering specification pertaining to field of technical expertise.
Work on system engineering projects that have a substantial mix of electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms and software design utilizing expertise in technical area of specialty.
Perform tests and provide feedback to product engineering and software on new designs and ongoing engineering improvements.
Problem identification and troubleshooting engineering problems in field of technical expertise, including serviceability and manufacturability.
Work with System Integration during the assembly and final testing of all products.
Become familiar with the MRS and assure that all new designs of hardware and software are reliable, safe, user friendly and maintainable by the field.
Review all external equipment interfaces, analyze architecture ideas, and insure they are up to date and documented.
Program starts in summer 2025, on-site at our Gloucester, MA campus
Requirements:
Graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field
Must be in good academic standing with a preferred GPA above 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Able to solve complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions
Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus
Flexible and adaptable mindset who thrives in a results-driven culture

$76,000.00 - $104,500.00The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
