2023 SALES DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM CONSULTANT – CARMEL, INDIANA

Sales Development Program Consultant

Allegion’s Sales Development Program is a 12-month rotational experience intended to immerse high potential, early career professionals into Allegion’s culture, brands and solutions. During your time in the program, we’ll invest in your development through networking, selling skills training, product training and industry knowledge, which will prepare you for consultative selling and add value to the different sales channels within Allegion. The program will begin June 2023 and following the final rotation of the program, you will transition into a full-time sales role within the organization. This program is intended for recent graduates and for those graduating in 2023.

What You Will Do:

  • Active participation and engagement in the SDP training program to gain knowledge about Allegion customers, products and processes.

  • Participate in an initial rotation at our training facility in Golden Valley, MN where you’ll gain foundational product and industry knowledge along with our Specification Writing Apprenticeship Program cohort.

  • Participate in a corporate rotation where you’ll be paired with a non-sales leader to gain insight in some of our corporate roles such as marketing, product management, digital customer experience and others. This rotation includes completion of individually assigned projects and a presentation on their results.

  • Participate in a field sales rotation at your home sales office where you’ll coordinate and conduct joint sales calls throughout assigned sales territory with all members of the regional sales office (RSO).

  • Participate in various local security tradeshows representing Allegion’s portfolio of products and demonstrating our solutions.

  • Opportunity to visit with and experience life in some of our plants to further understand our business, culture, processes and products.

  • Learn organizational structure and build relationships with co-workers throughout the matrixed organization.

  • Obtain an understanding of the customer and build relationships with decision makers.

  • Learn how to utilize Allegion tools/resources (i.e. Dynamics CRM, PowerBI data analytics) to gather and maintain information on projects.

  • Maintain awareness of all Allegion policies, guidelines, and procedures and ensure compliance.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business, or Marketing preferred

  • Strong mechanical and electronics aptitude

  • Detail oriented with a high level of organization and time management skills

  • Proficient w/ MS Office tools

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, influencing skills essential along with a bias for action

  • Ability to travel up to 20%
