Raytheon Intelligence & Space in El Segundo CA is seeking an Electrical Engineering intern for Summer 2022. The intern will join the Electronics Product Development (EPD) team. The selected candidate will perform and/or assist in the performance of Components Engineering or Applications Engineering tasks supporting airborne, ground, and tactical platforms/programs in the proposal, System Design Description (SDD), Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP), production and support phases. This position will require day to day interface with suppliers (vendors), designers, Parts Management (PM), Product Development Engineering (PDE), Electronic Computer Aided Design (ECAD), Program Management Office (PMO), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and other disciplines

Key responsibilities for the qualified candidate include:

• Perform component obsolescence management and risk coding of components to determine lifecycle status
• Work with suppliers to resolve manufacturing related issues
• Perform alternate part investigations and generate comparison matrices showing the differences and similarities of the parts
• •Interface with multiple internal stakeholders and external suppliers/manufacturers to develop component risk and verification delineation
• Facilitate component selection and libraries application through the coordination and generation of the program bill of material (BOM) in a collaboration toolset

Security Clearance & Other Requirements:

• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Requirements:

• Basic fundamental electrical/electrical engineering classes
• Experience working within a team environment
• Experience developing and delivering presentations to key stakeholders

Desired Requirements:

• Have thorough technical aptitude as shown by excellent grades or hands on lab experience
• Ability to apply basic principles, theories, and concepts within the electrical engineering fields and general knowledge of other related disciplines
• Ability to demonstrate delivery quality and timely results
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to multi-task

Required Education:

• Must have a BS / BA with a major in Electrical or Computer Engineering by Summer 2022
