About Opportunity

Optimas is seeking motivated individuals to join our 2-Year Thread Roller Operator Apprenticeship Program. This is a paid, hands-on training opportunity designed to develop the skills needed for a career as a Thread Roller Operator.

No previous thread rolling experience is required. Apprentices will receive on-the-job training, mentorship, and progressive skill development while learning to operate and set up thread rolling equipment.

What You’ll Learn

• Thread roller machine setup and operation
• Machine adjustments and troubleshooting
• Blueprint and work instruction reading
• Use of measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers
• Quality inspection and SPC
• Tooling and material identification
• Preventative maintenance
• Manufacturing safety and best practices

Key Responsibilities

• Learn to safely set up and operate thread rolling machines.
• Inspect materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Use measuring equipment to verify product dimensions.
• Follow work instructions, safety procedures, and production requirements.
• Complete quality and production documentation.
• Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Participate in all required apprenticeship training.
• Work effectively with trainers, supervisors, and team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to perform basic math and read measurements.
• Good attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.

Pay & Career Growth

Year 1: $20.00/hour
Year 2: $22.00/hour

The program provides paid employment, hands-on training, mentorship, and opportunities for career advancement.

Successful completion of the apprenticeship may lead to a Thread Roller Set-Up Operator position based on performance, attendance, qualifications, and business needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
• Ability to work around machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear.
