The Material Handling Supervisor supervises warehouse and shipping workers and coordinates all shipping activities.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities
- Ensures that delivery performance meets or exceeds Plan levels.
- Ensures that productivity goals for the Warehouse are met or exceeded.
- Ensures that quality levels for the Warehouse are met or exceeded.
- Ensures that shipping costs are contained. Continually works to reduce costs.
- Determines personnel levels on a daily basis to ensure workforce efficiency.
- Supervises warehouse and shipping workers to encourage maximum productivity.
- Reviews client orders to meet commitments for on-time, complete and accurate shipments.
- Verifies the accuracy of shipped orders, including documentation and packaging.
- Ensures that warehouse operations are in compliance with all worker safety laws and regulations.
- Responsible for inventory accuracy.
- Encourages a positive work atmosphere that promotes teamwork.
- Performs reviews and makes recommendations for compensation increases for the Warehouse and Shipping employees.
- Ensures that productive communication continually flows between the Shipping and Warehouse function and the Extrusion, Fabrication, Materials, Logistics, and Client Services areas.
- Responsible for the day-to-day compliance to established policies standards & procedures and verification that product being produced meets or exceeds the established product specifications on an on-going basis.
- Ensure that all employees are trained to perform their duties in a safe and productive manner.
Position Requirements:
- Excellent people skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Associates or bachelors degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
- Minimum 5 years shipping/receiving experience.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Experience working in a lean manufacturing and material flow environment.
- Strong customer service skills
