LEAD – Debone
I. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
The essential functions of this position includes, but is not limited to:
assisting the Supervisor with the daily operation of the debone area.
The Lead assists with inspecting and setting up the department with tools and materials prior to the start of the shift in the debone area. Coordinates the orders to be run with packing. Checks with production office for orders. Monitors the operation to insure the proper cuts are being maintained. Assists with setting up the crew according to orders. Assists with maintaining the production records for the department including USC controls. Tracks inventory of product and supplies. Assists with wash down of the area during production and at breaks. Provides breaks for line personnel and fills in for absenteeism as required. Fills in for the Supervisor when he is not in the area
II. MUSCULAR/SKELETAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
Must be able to maneuver freely throughout the plant Must be able to climb stairs to get to and from work areas Must be able to tolerate walking, standing for duration of shift Must be able to lift 40 pounds plus Must be able to use hands, lifting, bending, twisting Must be able to use knives and scissors if required Must be able to work in damp/cool conditions.
III. TYPES OF EQUIPMENT REQUIRED TO OPERATE FOR THE POSITION.
Gloves Must wear PPE ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair bonnet and beard guard.
IV. MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, DIPLOMA, OR TECHNICAL EXPERTISE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB FUNCTIONS.
Must be able to read, write and have a basic knowledge of math. Must possess and utilize good communication skills Must have High School diploma or equivalent Must have valid driver’s license Lock-out/Tag-out certified Good previous work and attendance record
This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by insuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. This position will also monitor all equipment to insure it is working properly and notify the supervisor of any needed maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Rehire Criteria:
Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.
This position is responsible for assisting the supervisor with product flow and process efficiency, product quality, and team member training.
