Description
Anchor Fabrication has an immediate opening for a highly motivate Plasma Operator for our Laser Cutting department.
Position Summary:
The Plasma Operator cuts metal stock on a CNC Plasma, meeting or exceeding customer specs and productivity requirements by reading blueprints and ensuring the correct machine settings. They are highly motivated and have a desire to work in a fast paced, quality centered environment. This role is vital to ensuring our customers’ needs are consistently met, promoting our company’s continued strong national growth.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Locate and ensure correct material is delivered to work center
- Ensure machine is working properly, specifically that plasma heads are level, coolant level is adequate, and consumables are in good working condition
- Ensure appropriate nesting program is delivered to work center
- Ensure nesting program matches print with work order
- Ensure that the correct gas, speed and consumables are applied correctly
- Accurately project completion of work orders at work center
- Complete assignments on time and correctly
- Ensure jobs are staged correctly after completion
- Continually maintaining a clean working environment
- Ensure vacuum table and Torit dust collector are working properly
- Empty dust collector as necessary
- Notify Supervisor when slats on the water/air table need to be replaced
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 6+ months of comparable work experience with plasma equipment, or oxyfuel cutting systems
- Work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to identify material thickness and part dimensions accurately
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints
- Must be able to read and understand measuring devices
Environment/Physical Requirements with or without Accommodation:
This position is carried out in a fabrication shop environment and as such has the following physical work requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 100lbs.
- Position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Position may require bending, kneeling, and stooping.
- Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals.
