1ST SHIFT-CNC OPERATOR/2ND CLASS FAB

Summary: Operate a numerically controlled computer to perform various types of layout, template work for all types of tank parts and components. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.         Read and understand blueprints, sketches and material cut sheets.

• Installing and deleting computer programs for various tank parts.
• Test run program to confirm material and program accuracy.
• Check quality of each part and label with part and job number.
• Ability to install standard shape computer programs.
• Material handling using overhead cranes, truck, forklift, magnets and Anver lift.
• General housekeeping.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, sketches, shipping lists, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; Ability to speak effectively with team supervisor and other team members.

Mathematical Skills: Basic skills: Ability to read a tape measure. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

Reasoning Ability: Basic skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings and sketches; Ability to satisfactorily pass practical tests to assess proficiency in the operation of one or more machines equipped with numeric controllers.
