Job Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The NDT Trainee is responsible for actively participating in a structured training program to become certified in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). This role will be reporting to the department Supervisor and involves assisting with testing procedures, following safety regulations, and gaining hands-on experience in the field.


ESSENTIAL DUDTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Document participation in a training program for stated NDT method. 
  • Obtain experience under the direct observation of a Level 2 or Level in the same method. 
  • Gain experience under the direct observation of a Level 1 or instructor when approved by the responsible Level 3. 
  • Assist with NDT inspections but do not independently conduct tests or make accept/reject decisions.
  • Support department staff as needed. 
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICIATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Ability to communicate, read, and understand English.
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Ability to work around hazardous chemicals. 
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills. 
  • Ability to multitask and willingness to work overtime as needed.


ITAR REQUIREMENT:

Due to ITAR regulations, this position requires that the employee must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Walking/standing for prolonged periods.
  • Exposure to heat, noise, and chemical fumes in production areas.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and repetitive hand movements.
