POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Machinist 3 is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. This role requires advance skills in interpreting blueprints, using precision measuring instruments, and operating conventional lathe and mill machines. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Run conventional lathe and mill machine.
• Responsible for crafting tooling out of variety of material.
• Troubleshoot machinery issues and make adjustments as needed.
• Read and understands, sketches, blueprints, and specification as necessary to perform the job function.
• Understands and utilizes proper setup and use of tooling associated with machines.
• Ensure all parts fall within in the specified tolerance range 0.001-0.005.  
• Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators) to inspect parts and ensure quality standards.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding facility maintenance.  

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: 

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications preferred.
• 5+ years of machining experience, including operating and setup.
• Strong knowledge of machining techniques, tools, and materials.  
• Ability to communicate, read, and understand English.
• Ability to follow precise instructions.
• Good vision and no hand or finger movement restrictions.
• Knowledge of performing shop mathematics associated with machining.
• Previous experience working with conventional lathe and milling machines.
